Despite the fact that there was little to play for, Rangnick refused to make any changes to the team that drew with Chelsea four days prior. There was only one alteration from that team. Anthony Elanga has been United’s lone bright spot this season, and the Swedish youngster continued to shine in the opening minutes of tonight’s game, as he set up Bruno Fernandes for the game’s first goal, as shown in the video below.

Due to his scary speed, Elanga managed to outpace the Brentford defender to the ball, clipping the ball into the path of Fernandes, who made no mistake on the volley to seal the victory.
Having achieved that goal, Rangnick will be trying to build on it, with a win in the penultimate home game possibly raising emotions ahead of the closing stretch. One thing is certain: incoming manager Erik ten Hag will be keeping a close eye on things.
